Just received my second Statement from DirectLine Smarter Insurance.

On the last statement we chuckled at the amusing gliches where they thought I'd been driving on a little road parallel to a dual carriageway at breakneck speeds.

On this statement my little 1 litre Peugeot has become a hybrid of Kit from Knight Rider and Herbie! One evening on the way home from work, the statement informs me, that whilst I was driving along the A52 I was actually undertaking a 32 mile rally up the M1, round IKEA, and down through rough bits of Nottingham eventually jumping the River Trent to get home - and all in 25mins the AA suggests over an hour for the journey!!!!!


Methinks that there are still some problems to iron out.

Poop Poop! - the update

You may remember me blogging about a car insurance pilot I was in - if not read it from the archives - I just received my first statement.

It's a fascinating table of every journey I made within the month of February, where I started, where I finished, what time I travelled and what speeds I did at particular locations.

There are some interesting anomalies where the mapping software is not quite detailed enough and has got me travelling at 64mph along a double parked dead-end road (which just happens to run alongside the A52 dual carriageway!!!)

Even with these gliches fixed I would only qualify for 2% discount this month - oops!
